Do you ever think about how all the things that you effect the environment?
Ever stop to think that all that gasoline you fill your car with gets breathed in by thousands of people and makes them sick and hurts animals and plants?
Do you wonder if your children and grandchildren will live to see the end of this world we are slowly killing?
Probably not.
Want to know why?
Because we are too consumed in other things that seem more important, fashion, money, fame. Things which you will find so unimportant when you figure out you're the one killing yourself.
Because in the end, it's not you who will suffer from these mistakes, it's your children and their children, if they live long enough to have them.
Maybe you should think about that next time you fill up your dangerous SUV with harmful gasoline which turns into harmful fumes. Maybe next time you leave all the lights on in your house you will think about how you're killing the environment and all that lives in it.
This is a big conceptual piece for me.
The Earth represents...the Earth, the planet we are destroying. The gas mask represents all the pollution and destruction we are all creating, whether you wish to believe it or not.
I like it a lot. You're a good writer too Can't wait to see more of your amazing work.
:sigh:Its just a matter of getting people to actually DO something and break off from their regular thoughts and actions and get them do help. Instead of procrastinating.
i totally agree that we should stop doing things to harm the planet, it is exploitative and damaging for our children.
however i believe that global warming is mostly part of a natural process, the climate of this planet is constantly changing - if you look at records the fluctuations are huge.
nevertheless we are faced with a bleak future but i can clearly see how getting rid of the things you talk about, fashion, money, fame would benefit us.
i like your piece by the way :{P

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
This contest ends on Friday the 18th December 2009. If you want to enter, get your entries in quick! Here are all the entries so far. Also if you want to donate a prize, that would be fantastic too, just note me
